Vertical Centrifuges

ARYA ENGINEERING vertical axis centrifuge is a batch type centrifuge machine with top product discharge (different discharge systems are available).

Application in Industry

• Chemical and pharmaceutical
• Food

Special Application

• Special feed pipe to avoid out of balance on fast-filtering products
• Fully automatic sequence with control system of all the process phases except for discharge
• Out-of-balance monitoring system alarm when vibrations exceed maximum preset values

Technical Features

Drive- Frequency Inverter Drive (variable speed).
Filtration – Polypropylene cloth or PTFE cloth.
Clean In Place (CIP) – CIP washing system with nozzles.
Lubrication- Lubrication by grease (according to FDA) for all models.
Suspensions-Two solutions are available:
• Three point suspensions
• Suspensions on inertia platform with viscous dampers to avoid heavy concrete foundations
Surface polishing- Many polishing levels, up to mirror polishing.
Building materials – All the stainless steels and special alloys available, such as SS 304, SS316 L, HASTELLOY, TITANIUM, Linings in HALAR (ECTFE), TEFLON ETFE.
Working principle
Feeding-The feed pipe can be shaped to match the product features.
Cake Washing-The washing phase is carried out by means of a feed pipe system and nozzles.
Final spinning- High speed spinning allows a high “G factor”, required to shorten the dehydration phase and to minimize the residual moisture level.

Discharge

Depending on the model, the discharge phase can be manual by means of a scoop or by removing the filter bag. The discharge can also be automatic by using a suction knife.

Models
Simple Top Discharge
This is the simplest machine. Solids are discharged manually. This type of machine is for use in small-scale centrifuges. A filter bag or a filter cloth can both be used.
Instant Top Discharge
This type of centrifuge simplifies the product discharge and reduces its cycle phase. The basket upper ring, which the filter bag is fastened to, is removable and can be lifted from the top.
Bottom Discharge
In this centrifuge the product is discharged by means of a suction knife. When the operator must avoid any contact with the product (toxic or allergenic) or the solids must be removed without contaminating the environment, the product can be pneumatically transferred to the dryer or to the recovery system in a closed circuit made inert by nitrogen (if inflammable solvents are present).
The pneumatic transfer system is supplied as a packaged unit.
Options
o GMP version with processing area fully accessible for inspection and basket flat bottom (up to Ø 1220 mm)
o Special system for quick filter-bag removal
o Cake thickness detector for automatic loading without operator
o Scraping knife to shatter the product before discharging it, to minimize the exertion in the filter bag removal
